Neck and head pain

Neck pain and headaches arising from the neck are a very common. Pain may be experienced in the neck, face, back of the head or scalp, shoulder and upper back. Besides pain, tension and stiffness may be felt along with numbness or tingling in the hands. This can make reading, driving a car or using a computer literally a pain in the neck. There are many causes such as traffic accidents, postural strain and age related changes.

Assessment involves evaluation of posture, muscle tension, joint mobility and nerve function. Treatment techniques include Active Release Technique®, joint mobilisation, stretches and specific exercises to rehabilitate the neck to allow a return to everyday activities.
